Barnstaple is the terminus of the Tarka Line, serving the town of Barnstaple, Devon. Originally known as Barnstale Junction, the station sits on the southern side of the River Taw on a retail park.

Layout Edit

The main entrance is on Station Road. A public telephone and self service ticket machine are located immediately outside. Once in the concourse, the ticket window is immediately to the left; a separate ticket office for enquiries and advance travel is next to this. Access to the platform is straight ahead, and an independently run cafe to the right.

A separate side gate is available to the left of the station building, and when the concourse is closed, another access gate from the car park is opened.

Facilities Edit

Toilets are available on the platform, and an accessible toilet (accessed with a RADAR key) is provided in the concourse.

An independently run cafe operates from the concourse.

Cycle Hire for the Tarka Trail operates from the station building.

A large car park is available.

Services Edit

All trains depart from the platform. All trains stop at Exeter St David's.

Bus Connections and PlusBus Edit

Bus stops are immediately outside the station on the approach road.

Barnstaple is a PlusBus station. Through ticket combining rail and bus services to Bideford are also available.
