About[]

Dockyard station is in the suburban parish of Morice Town, Plymouth. As its name suggests, it serves the HM Naval Base dockyard at Devonport, Plymouth; although Devonport and Keyham also do. Dockyard is closest to St Levan Gate entrance. Although all station signage refers to just "Dockyard", sometimes the station is given the longer name "Devonport Dockyard" to distinguish it from Woolwich Dockyard station.

Dockyard is a request stops. Passengers wishing to alight must tell the conductor on the train; passengers wishing to board must signal to the driver.

Layout[]

Dockyard has 2 platforms linked by a local road bridge; there is no step free access.

Platform 1 is reached off Cross Hill, and Platform 2 via a lane of Paisley Street. Additional entrances are via footpaths to Boscawen Place.

Facilities[]

There is a shelter on Platform 1.

There are no ticket purchasing facilities; passengers must buy on the train, at their destination or interchange station.

A limited mainline service also calls.

From Platform 2[]

  • GWR: Gunnislake - Plymouth (Tamar Valley Line)
  • GWR: Penzance - Cardiff Central

Bus connections and PlusBus[]

There are no bus connections at Dockyard.

Devonport is not a PlusBus station.

Dockyard is in the following Rover areas:

  • Devon Ranger/Devon Evening Ranger
  • Freedom of Devon and Cornwall
  • Freedom of the South West
  • Ride Cornwall

Passengers boarding at Dockyard and wishing to travel to Cornwall, are permitted to double back via Plymouth on the same ticket.

Dockyard is not a Penalty Fare station.
