Totnes station serves the town of Totnes, Devon. It also close to Totnes (Littlehempston) on the South Devon steam Railway.

Layout[]

Totnes has 2 platforms, linked by footbridge, step free access is via the road bridge, necessitating a long walk around. Passengers should ensure they leave plenty of time.

The main entrance is on the Plymouth-bound side, located off Station Road via the forecourt; short and long term parking are available here.

The ticket office is located in the station building, access to the platforms is either through the ticket office, or via the side gate. This provides access to Platform 1, where a self service ticket machine can be found; the footbridge to platform 2 is to the right.

Further access to the Exeter-bound platform is available off a side road from Station Road, again car parking is available here, with access to Platform 2 through a side gate.

Facilities.[]

An independently run cafe is available in the former signal box, located off the footbridge; there is no step free access.

Ladies toilets are located on Platform 1, Gents on Platform 2 along with accessible toilets (accessed with a RADAR key).

A waiting room is provided on Platform 2.

The taxi rank is on the Platform 1 forecourt.

  • Crosscountry: Penzance/Plymouth - Aberdeen/Leeds/Manchester Piccadilly/Newcastle
  • GWR: Penzance/Plymouth - London Paddington
  • GWR: Penzance/Plymouth - Bristol Temple Meads/Exeter St David's

If travelling on GWR services to London Paddington, First Class coaches K and L will stop at the far end of the platform beyond the footbridge*.

Crosscountry services depend on the formation of the train.

Bus Connections and PlusBus[]

Bus stops (and Rail Replacement Bus stops) are located on the Platform 1 forecourt.

Totnes is a PlusBus station.

Due to the short platforms, First Class coach L will not be adjacent to the platform, passengers must board or alight via coach K.
